API 6A Wellhead & Pressure Control Equipment (2,000–20,000 psi) | Riis Energy Services

API 6A wellheads, Christmas trees, gate valves and chokes from 2,000 to 20,000 psi, PSL 1–4 and material classes AA–HH, assembled and pressure-tested in our Tananger facility.

At a glance

  • API 6A monogrammed assemblies (licence 6A-XXXX)
  • PSL 1 to PSL 4 and PR2 validation
  • Material classes AA to HH-NL, NACE MR0175 sour service
  • Bunkered hydro and gas test cell to 30,000 psi
  • MRB with heat-number traceability
  • 48-hour emergency repair turnaround

Northline designs, assembles and tests API 6A surface wellhead and pressure control equipment for onshore and platform wells. Every assembly is hydrostatically and gas tested in our bunkered test cell and shipped with a full manufacturing record book (MRB), traceability to heat number and third-party witnessed test certificates on request.

What we supply

Conventional and compact wellheads, solid-block and composite Christmas trees, manual and hydraulic gate valves (2-1/16" to 7-1/16"), adjustable and positive chokes, and refurbished BOP spares. Sour service (NACE MR0175/ISO 15156) trim is standard in HH-NL.

How we test

Shell tests at 1.5× rated working pressure, seat tests at rated pressure, and PR2 cycle testing for new designs. Test charts are digitally logged and attached to the MRB.

What is the difference between API 6A PSL levels?

API 6A Product Specification Levels (PSL 1 to 4) define increasing requirements for material testing, NDE, traceability and pressure testing. PSL 3G adds a gas test on top of PSL 3. Higher PSLs are c…
