The operator had 38 km of insulated carbon-steel piping operating between 60 °C and 175 °C, with two CUI leaks in 18 months and no reliable data on where the next one would occur. Removing insulation everywhere would have cost more than the annual maintenance budget.

Northline ran a risk-based screening: PEC on 100% of accessible lines, profile RT at supports and dead legs, and PAUT follow-up at 1,240 flagged locations. Results fed a remaining-life model and a prioritised repair list.

Resultatene

Insulation removal was limited to 6% of the piping. 17 locations below minimum required thickness were repaired before failure. No CUI leaks in the 12 months after completion.
